Work, Work, Work

We, the People of the United States of America, love to work.  We devote exuberant time and energy into entertaining ourselves with pretenders portraying a small section of work of our society.

We want to read and learn about the work-life of people within and outside our professions.

Can you imagine what it would be like to work at a fast-food restaurant or a college bar?  Can you imagine the life of a person while working in waste disposal?  Can you imagine working as an astronaut or doctor?

Yes, we know that about our curiosity of work.  That’s what makes your perception of work so interesting.

“Do you ever write about work as a lifeguard?”

Not much so far, maybe — watch the bay in the meantime. 

While We are Young

Have fun and call what you love — work.

I love being happy — I work on being happy.

I love thoughtfulness — I work on how and what I think.

I love being loved — I work on my relationships and loving myself in a positive, healthy, expansive way.

I love a balanced life — I work on balancing and budgeting my time and energy.

I love making progress and enjoying the feel of accomplishment — I work on setting intentions and following through with action, early and in small bits.

Last Month’s Rent

The concept 'first and last month's rent plus security depost' is confusing when speaking with landlords.

Rent is due when it is due for the time that it is due. 

The concept is really just a landlord's slimy way of attempting to pad their pocket with money before yielding the service.  We believe the concept came from ignorant professionals who confused the fact of law relating to security deposits. 

A Landlord may require a security deposit.  The security deposit cannot exceed the sum of  two months rent after the first year.  After the first year, the landlord must remit to the tenant the part of the deposit minus any damages and keep no more than a sum of one month’s rent in the security deposit account.
