The three distinctions of Social Value.
Basic Social value. Real Social Value. and Universal Social Value.
Basic Social Value is where you are accepted in a society. The people like you and you like them. The society may be a group of friends or club.
Real Social Value is where you are accepted by a society and the society pays you. An example of Real Social Value might be your employer. If you are your own boss you provide a Real Social Value to society where society pays you.
Universal Social Value is where you provide something to all of society. Examples of Universal Social Value are people who contribute to our understanding of the world through science or philosophy.
These distinctions clarify our commitments. Some people contribute a great deal to universal social value and are not compensated with any real property and may also lack basic social value. Some people may have a strong basic social value and not be clear with real social value. Other people may have much real social value and contribute very little to universal social value or basic social value.
